Sectoral Groups

Two national peak representative and advisory bodies for education and training sectors are representated on AICTEC. These shared membership arrangements ensure that AICTEC receives broad-based and cross-sectoral advice.

  • The Flexible Learning Advisory Group (FLAG) provides strategic direction and support to the national training system's e-learning strategy, the Flexible Learning Framework. FLAG is made up of a strategically-focused group of senior vocational education and training (VET) personnel advising:
    • the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR)
    • the National Senior Officials Committee (NSOC)
    • the Australian Information and Communications Technology in Education Committee (AICTEC).
  • Universities Australia is the industry peak body representing the university sector.

The Ministerial Council for Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA) ICT in Schools  Taskforce (ICTST) was discontinued by the then MCEETYA in 2008.  A brief summary of the ICTST priorities and major publications is at http://www.aictec.edu.au/aictec/go/pid/265 and documents are available from the MCEECDYA website.
