The Major Industries Training Advisory Council (MITAC) is a Northern Territory non-profit organisation directed by industry people. MITAC has the role of advising on the skill needs of the following sectors: Building and Construction; Drilling; Electrotechnology and Utilities; Utilities; Furnishing; Mining and Quarrying; Process Manufacturing; and Telecommunications. The Department of Education and Training in the Northern Territory (NT DET)is responsible for education and training in the Northern Territory. It provides early childhood services and education for young Territorians, with a focus on meeting the needs of Indigenous students, leading to jobs, training and further education.
