Report of the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission on a reference from the Attorney-General. Investigates the implications of the rapid development and use of new technologies in electronic commerce and the provision of government and other services, examines the difficulties and restrictions faced, advises on options for use of digital technology in removing barriers to access to government and business information and services, conducts an audit of the accessibility of Australian government and business internet sites, advises on needs and options for education or training to promote equal access to electronic information and services, suggests strategies for avoiding the marginalisation of these groups as a result of the use by service providers of such technologies, and suggests minimum standards.

The Report of the e-Research Coordinating Committee to the Government set out the policy issues pertinent to Australia securing maximum benefit from the use of e-Research techniques. The Report proposed strategic directions that should be pursued; and proposed further steps that would allow generation of an implementation plan. It provided essential groundwork for deliberations leading to the investment in Platforms for Collaboration capability.

The Report on the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Family and Human Services' inquiry into balancing work and family is available to download in sections. The review of the NSW Children's Services Regulation 2004 provides an opportunity to reexamine both the effectiveness and the efficiency of the regulatory framework for NSW children's services. A discussion paper is available to download, and public consultations will have input to the Industry Reference Group.

Information and supporting documentation regarding the Queensland Government's review of the Education (General Provisions) Act 1989 and its accompanying regulation, the Education (General Provisions) Regulation 2000. This review resulted in the introduction of the Education (General Provisions) Bill 2006 into Parliament on 21 April 2006.

First We See: The National Review of Visual Education, provides a vision for the visual education of Australian students into the future. The report is the result of a two-year review of Australia's visual education that examined existing programs and good practice from across the education system, a framework for the future of visual education and four key recommendations.

The New South Wales Parliamentary inquiry into Children, Young People and the Built Environment has produced this final report on trends, changes and issues for children and young people in the implementation of policy, design and planning for the built environment; with recommendations on strategies to ensure that issues affecting children and young people receive coordinated attention across portfolios and different levels of government.

The report of the Victorian Enducation and Training Committee inquiry into the effects of television and multimedia on education in Victoria is available for download in sections or as a whole. The Committee found that multimedia holds enormous promise for education - in numerous schools, multimedia is enriching student learning in ways that were previously not possible. Nevertheless, these schools have often had to overcome significant challenges along the way. The Committee believes considerable systemic gains can be made by effectively and efficiently sharing these experiences among other schools and clusters.
