    This Australian Apprenticeships Access Programme (the Access Programme) is designed to provide training assistance to people who are disadvantaged in the labour market and need preliminary training to successfully participate in an Australian Apprenticeship.

    The Training Ombudsman was established to help people involved in Queensland's apprenticeship and traineeship system. The Training Ombudsman receives and reviews complaints about: training delivered to the apprentice or trainee; adequacy of facilities, range of work and supervision provided by the employer; circumstances in which the contract is signed or amended or cancelled; failure of the apprentice or trainee to make progress under the training plan; decisions of the Training and Employment Recognition Council relating to apprenticeship and traineeship contracts.

    The Tools For Your Trade website provides information on the Australian Government Tools For Your Trade Initiative nationally to employers, New Apprentices and tools suppliers and will ensure that regardless of location, employers and New Apprentices in regional and rural Australia are assured of access to the tool kits. The Initiative will help to alleviate the financial burden on eligible New Apprentices in the first year of their New Apprenticeship by providing tool kits worth up to $800 including GST.

    Traineeship and Apprenticeship Services (TAS) works under delegation from the Training and Skill Commission (TSC) and is responsible for regulating South Australia's traineeship and apprenticeship system. This includes approving: Employers; Contracts of training and issuing Training Arrangement numbers; Variations to the information on the contract; Issuing the Certificate of Competency for successful completions of traineeships and apprenticeships.
