    The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) was developed under instruction from the Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA) and is a key national policy instrument to protect the quality of Australian education and training. Documents relating to quality assurance are listed on this web site.

    The Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) is a set of nationally agreed standards ensuring the quality of vocational education and training services throughout Australia. The AQTF is the name given to the revised Australian Recognition Framework (ARF)

    The training.com.au website provides information on the complaints process for when people are not happy with the quality of service or the training they have received, or if they want more information about how to lodge a complaint. It provides links to the state or territory training authority, and the downloadable national guideline for responding to complaints about VET quality.

    In October 2003, the Steering Group for the Resources for Teaching, Learning and Assessment Program requested that the learnings from the Toolbox experience (1999 to 2004) be documented and made available for the VET system. As a result, this document has been developed to capture the knowledge, experiences, tools and techniques that have arisen from the Flexible Learning Toolbox initiative.

    The VET Interoperability Framework is an initiative within the Australian Flexible Learning Framework for the National Vocational Education and Training System 2000-2004. This site includes recommended standards and guidelines, case studies, scenarios and best practice in achieving interoperability in both technical infrastructure and information systems. Also a reference section on standards, guidelines and organisations.

    This website provides information on mutual recognition of occupational licences. Users can look up a licence entitlement and obtain information on equivalent licences in other states and territories. The website refers to regulators for further information on applying for mutual recognition of a licence.

    This Code of Good Practice has been developed to assist both parties entering into a Training Contract with a clear understanding of each other's obligations and expectations.

    As a Committee of the Ministerial Council for Vocational and Technical Education, the National Quality Council (NQC) oversees quality assurance and ensures national consistency in the application of the Australian Quality Training Framework standards for the audit and registration of training providers. It has specific decision-making powers in relation to the endorsement of Training Packages and other aspects of quality assurance under the National Skills Framework.

    People with a training problem or concern, may phone or email the toll-free complaints hotline offered by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.

    10.

    The Training Ombudsman was established to help people involved in Queensland's apprenticeship and traineeship system. The Training Ombudsman receives and reviews complaints about: training delivered to the apprentice or trainee; adequacy of facilities, range of work and supervision provided by the employer; circumstances in which the contract is signed or amended or cancelled; failure of the apprentice or trainee to make progress under the training plan; decisions of the Training and Employment Recognition Council relating to apprenticeship and traineeship contracts.
